Karen MacDonald
Owner and Program Director

Karen is a former member of the Canadian National Freestyle Ski Team.  She is currently a massage practitioner and a Freestyle ski coach.  Karen has many years of experience working with kids in sports through gymnastics, skiing, visualization training and motivational and goal setting sessions.  She lives in Squamish, BC with her two daughters, Lily Jane and Cedar Grace.

Leah Richardson
Headcoach, Lifeguard and Manager- Invermere, BC

Leah was born and raised in Alberta and is working on her seventh year in the BC mountains.  She is a snowboarding coach, yoga instructor, and a lifeguard. Leah loves all types of outdoor adventures and sports including snowboarding, paddling(of any kind), mountain biking, climbing, and swimming. She is excited to be back with the Rocky Mountain Sports Camp this year and will be managing the Invermere location.  This is Leah's 4th summer with RMSC.

Bobby Wheatley
Headcoach- Squamish, BC

Originally hailing from Québec, Bobby will often let slide some frenchicisms (despite being Anglo) and claim to know much more about food than you.  His love of the outdoors has allowed him to explore many activities – most notably sea kayaking, rock climbing, biking, and snowboarding – often under the guise of guide or instructor. 

During the school season, Bobby works as an education assistant at Howe Sound Secondary.  This is Bobby's second summer with RMSC.

Madilyn Mellis
Coach- Invermere, BC

I am a born and raised adventurer from a Invermere, BC. I love to play in the water, climb mountains, ski all winter, and surf in the tropics. I have spent winters teaching kids up at Panorama and love to play. I’m super stoked to share my passion of sports this summer and coach with the RMSC.

Ayva Spierings
Coach- Pemberton, BC

Ayva grew up in Pemberton BC and loves skiing, hiking and biking whenever she can. She loves being active and is studying Kinesiology at the University of Calgary.  Ayva grew up competing in gymnastics and now shares her passion for the sport, coaching new gymnasts. 

She enjoys working with kids and sharing her love of being active in the outdoors and is exited to coach in Pemberton for her first year with RMSC!

Heidi Delmonego
Headcoach- Golden

Heidi is an Italian/Kiwi/Canadian who moved to BC in 2010 to ski. Heidi has worked as a ski instructor at Whistler Blackcomb and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and loves coaching kids and sharing her passion for skiing. Heidi is also a Mum, keen paddle boarder and mountain biker and is excited for her first year coaching with Rocky Mountain Sports Camps.

Maddy Dyer-Smith

Maddy grew up in Perth, WA and came to Squamish in 2020 after falling in love with the Mountain lifestyle of B.C. Maddy enjoys climbing and hiking and has spent two summers working as an Adventure Guide and Camp Counsellor in America and most recently as a High Ropes guide for The Adventure Group in Whistler. Maddy loves being a good role model for kids and making sure they have a fun and safe summer.

Calissa Tamelin
Coach- Invermere
Calissa is born and raised in Invermere and is a grade 12 students in high school that is very passionate about athletics and coaching in the community. She spends most her time as a competitive dancer and enjoys mentoring and teaching young dancers to improve their skills. Calissa loves spending time with children, and loves anything that involves the outdoors such as, skiing, swimming, and hiking! She is excited to have a fun and safe summer with the kids.
Haley Kubian
Coach- Invermere

Haley was raised in invermere BC and has been passionate about the outdoors ever since she was little . Haley enjoys hiking , biking, kayaking , swimming, and skiing. She is involved in various community sports such as club soccer and volleyball, and she is currently coaching a kids soccer team . Haley can’t wait to share her passion for the outdoors and continue coaching through the summer !

Coach- Squamish

Camille grew up in the Pyrenees mountains in France. 

 She practiced ski competitions and she had been teaching skiing since she was 18 years old. Also, she organized sporting events.

She came to Canada to ski, downhill bike and outdoor adventures. But also for the wonderful, friendly Canadian spirit.

 She worked with a lot of kids camps in France. She loves kids and their happy eyes when they discover something new makes her really happy.

She enjoys seeing kids being proud of themselves and will be happy to help them to have more self confidence and have fun during the week. 

She is so excited to be a part of the Rocky Mountain Sport Camp this summer.

Coach and Lifeguard- Golden

Kiana is a lifeguard/ swim instructor. She basically lived in the water growing up, whether it was competitive swimming, surfing, or scuba diving and she loves to share her love for it.

Her family passed on their passion for the outdoors. She has grown up skiing, backpacking, mountain biking, competitive swimming, and playing ringette. She is so excited to continue to teach kids about the joys of being active in the world we live in. She moved to Golden last year to spend more time doing the activities she loves and sharing those passions with others.
